Ursa Major on the Move: Two Tracks, Two Chances

We’re back in action today with two runners flying the Ursa Major Racing colours.

First up is Bay Dream Believer (pictured below) who lines up in the 5.24 at Beverley for Mark Walford with Rhys Elliott in the saddle. She’s a three-time winner already, but her recent spell on the all-weather didn’t really play to her strengths. At 16/1 she looks a big price to us – maybe the bookies have overlooked just how much heart this filly has. The ground is a little bit of an unknown, but she always tries her socks off. The plan will be to drop her in and hope they go a good gallop. She might still be in the handicapper’s grip, but we’ll find out more today about whether she can push on or needs a bit of help from the assessor.

Then we’ve got Huit Reflets, or “Hugo” as he’s known at home, heading to Kelso for the 6.00. He’s got Jamie Hamilton onboard for the Walford yard again. A bit of rain would definitely help his chances, but he goes there as favourite and rightly so. It’s a competitive race with some nice horses in opposition, but Hugo has that late kick we love to see, and hopefully he’ll be finishing with a rattle.

After May Blossom’s brilliant win yesterday, the team is buzzing. Let’s hope the good run continues, and best of luck to everyone heading to Beverley and Kelso to cheer them on!
