May Blossom Charges to Victory at Redcar
Today saw May Blossom line up at Redcar for the Julie Camacho team, with David Allan taking the ride. As mentioned in an earlier blog, her participation depended entirely on the ground conditions suiting her, and with the Camacho team deeming it suitable, she was given the green light to run — a decision that proved spot on.
It wasn’t the smoothest of starts, with May Blossom leaving the stalls awkwardly and sideways, but David Allan’s experience quickly came into play. He settled her into the race, judged the pace to perfection, and bided his time before asking the question.
With just over two furlongs to go, Allan set her alight, and May Blossom responded brilliantly. She swept past her rivals, showing both speed and determination, while another challenger loomed on the near side of the track. Digging deep, she lowered her head and battled to the line, securing a hard-fought and impressive victory.
The win marked Ursa Major Racing’s 23rd success of the year, and it was particularly satisfying given May Blossom had lost her way earlier in the season. Today’s performance showed she’s firmly back in form and ready to build on this success.
A huge well done to all connections and everyone involved in guiding her back to winning ways.
