Two Runners Head to Newcastle Today – Mali And Me & Cooperation

We’re back in action this afternoon with two runners at Newcastle, as Mali And Me lines up in the 5:00 for Michael Dods with Sean Kirrane aboard, followed by Cooperation in the 5:30 for Katie Scott under Paul Mulrennan. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of today’s racing.

Mali And Me – 5:00 Newcastle

After a spell on the sidelines since May, Mali And Me makes his return to the track and looks ready to get back into the swing of things. She’s been working nicely at home and has shown all the right signs ahead of this comeback run.

At 100/1 at the time of writing, the bookmakers may have underestimated her. While she’ll naturally improve for the outing, she should travel smoothly into the race before fitness becomes a factor late on. A midfield finish would be a promising step forward, giving the team something to build on for the weeks ahead. The main aim today is to get her back into a race-day rhythm and set a solid platform for the rest of her campaign.

Cooperation – 5:30 Newcastle

Next up is Cooperation (pictured below), who takes his place in what looks a competitive race on paper. However, he brings a reliable profile and should hold a strong each-way chance.

His running style is no secret—he’ll likely be held up early before unleashing his trademark late surge. That approach has been working particularly well at Newcastle lately, with the track favouring horses who come from off the pace. If the race unfolds to suit, Cooperation could be finishing stronger than most and play a big part in the closing stages.

Final Thoughts

Best of luck to all connections and everyone heading to the track today. With two honest and genuine horses representing us, we’re looking forward to an exciting evening at Newcastle and hopefully a couple of performances we can take plenty of encouragement from.
