Tarlac Breaks His Maiden at Ripon!

What a day at Ripon — Tarlac stormed home in the 3.20pm over 6 furlongs to land his first career victory, and what a way to do it!

With Joanna Mason in the saddle, Tarlac was drawn wide and found himself having to settle in the middle of the pack early on. But patience paid off. Joanna, who had been unlucky not to bag a winner for Ursa Major Racing so far, timed her run to perfection. Coming with a strong late burst around the outside, Tarlac swept past the field inside the final furlong to win by half a length in fine style.

It’s a brilliant moment for the team — not just because it's Tarlac’s first win, but because it reflects the huge progress he’s made since joining Katie Scott’s yard. Katie’s done a tremendous job bringing this lad forward, and today’s result is a testament to her skill and patience as a trainer.

This win also marks winner number 94 for us — we're closing in fast on that magical 100-winner milestone!
