Race Day Preview – Hexham (3 Runners) Sunday, 22nd June 2025
We’re off to Hexham today with three runners and a strong team effort behind them. It’s a competitive card, but we’re heading there with optimism and three horses who all hold each-way chances.
2:18 – Mr Sundancer & Huit Reflets
We’re double-handed in the first race with Mr Sundancer and Huit Reflets, and it’s not easy to split them.
Mr Sundancer ran a solid race last time out when third in a seller at Southwell. He finished behind Winds of Winter, who won impressively next time out, giving the form a nice boost. A repeat performance today would put him right in the frame.
Huit Reflets—or Hugo, as we know him—was also third on his latest start, behind an Irish gamble and our own Suitably Surprised, a horse we think a lot of. He’s already a course-and-distance winner at Hexham, which could prove crucial on a track that doesn’t suit every horse. That experience gives him the nod for preference, although we’re hopeful both can be competitive and finish in the top four.
2:48 – Glory and Honour ( pictured below)
Our final runner of the day is Glory and Honour in the 2:48. We’ve applied blinkers today to sharpen him up, and while the lack of pace in the race is a concern, we’ll be adapting tactics if needed. He’s got ability and, on his day, can be a real threat.
The favourite looks strong—formerly a well-regarded horse on the Flat, now enjoying life over fences and coming off a good win—but our lad goes there in decent form and shouldn’t be overlooked.
All three horses travel to Hexham in good order, and while it’s a tough card, we’re hoping for some strong performances. As always, the most important thing is that they come home safe and sound—but a winner would certainly be a bonus!
