Two Winners in Two Days for Ursa Major!

What a weekend it’s turning into for Ursa Major Racing Club — two winners in two days and the century mark is now well within reach! Just three more victories will take us to the magical 100-winner milestone — and if this week is anything to go by, we might not be waiting long!

Fresh off the buzz of Baby Rover’s fantastic win yesterday, Glory And Honour took centre stage today at Hexham in the 2:48, and he didn’t disappoint.

Lining up in a tight and tactical four-runner race, Glory And Honour was sharp from the gates and quickly found himself disputing the lead. With the early pace on the steady side, jockey Jonny England made the positive decision to take it up and set his own fractions. It was a move that would prove decisive.

As they climbed the famous Hexham back straight and began the run down the hill, Jonny asked Glory And Honour to kick for home — and our boy responded gamely, putting pressure on the favourite. By the time they touched down over the final fence, Glory And Honour had stolen a length and a half advantage.

But it wasn’t over yet.

The favourite — ridden by none other than Jamie Hamilton, a real fan-favourite within the club — was rallying fast. The run-in felt like an eternity as he closed in with every stride. But Glory And Honour, tough as nails, stuck his neck out and wouldn’t be passed — digging deep and galloping all the way to the line to score by a determined 1.5 lengths at a starting price of 7/2.

This victory is made even sweeter by the fact that several owners were involved in both Baby Rover and Glory And Honour — what an incredible couple of days they’ve had! Two thrilling wins, two brilliant performances, and two sets of unforgettable celebrations.
