Managers Thoughts - York Annual Meet

Ursa Major Racing is back in action today at the prestigious York meeting with one runner – Marhaba the champ, who goes in the 1.50 for our new trainer Sophie Leech, partnered by Jason Hart.

Marhaba might be a fresh face in both the Leech yard and Ursa colours, but his class is already proven. He’s no stranger to this race either – having won it two years ago from a mark three pounds higher when trained by Kevin Ryan. If the champ can show some of that old sparkle today, run a solid race, and finish ahead of a few rivals, we’ll be very pleased. A step back towards his best form would make him a big player.

Away from the track to the trackside .. today is also special for another reason – our annual York owners’ meeting. It’s a chance for our members and trainers to come together, enjoy a fantastic day out, and maybe indulge in one or two of the local beverages along the way. It’s always a lively occasion and one of the highlights of the year for the Ursa family.

Best of luck to Marhaba the champ, to all connections, and to everyone attending York today. Tomorrow is shaping up to be another busy day – so keep an eye on our socials for updates, photos, and all the latest from the Ursa team!
