Curious Rover Takes on the Ebor Festival

Today is a very exciting one for everyone connected with Ursa Major Racing, as we send out two runners under our silks, both trained by Katie Scott.

  • Curious Rover – 1.50 York (William Pyle)

  • Tarlac – 2.40 Carlisle (Joanna Mason)

To have a horse running at the prestigious Ebor Festival is a fantastic achievement, and Curious Rover fully deserves his place there. He’s been a model of consistency, placing in three of his five starts, and while this is a very competitive race, we’re hopeful he can hold his own. The obvious danger looks to be Jordan Electrics, but if Curious Rover can finish in the top six or even better. It would be a brilliant result and a proud moment for all of us.

Meanwhile, Tarlac (pictured below) lines up at Carlisle as he looks to bounce back from his last run. We’ve fitted cheekpieces and feel the stiff uphill finish at Carlisle could play to his strengths. We’d love to see him back to his best with a strong showing – a finish in the first three or four would be a great step forward.

A special mention must go to Katie Scott, who has become such an important part of the Ursa Major Racing family. Katie also runs her stable star Luna A’Inbhir Nis in the 4.45 at York today, as the mare bids to become the first horse to win seven races in 2025. That would be a truly remarkable achievement, and a testament to Katie’s hard work, dedication, and the continued growth of her yard. Everyone at Ursa Major will be cheering her home this afternoon!

We’d like to wish the very best of luck to all connections today. It’s a busy weekend ahead for the team, so make sure to stay tuned to our social media channels for further updates.
