Bay Dream Believer Does It Again!
Bay Dream Believer proved once more that grit and determination can outshine size, delivering another memorable victory in today’s race. Having won this very contest last year, and fresh off a success at Doncaster last time out, this was always her big target – and she didn’t disappoint.
Possibly the smallest horse in training – and certainly the smallest in Mark’s yard – Bay Dream makes up for it with an enormous heart. Jason gave her a superb ride, settling her in behind the leaders and waiting for the perfect moment. At one stage, patience looked like it might have been tested a little too much, and Jason admitted afterwards he began to worry. But when the gap appeared, Bay Dream surged through with all her trademark determination.
She soon found herself battling stride-for-stride with 2023’s winner, the pair pulling clear to fight it out to the line. It became a question of which horse was the gamest, which jockey the strongest – and Bay Dream Believer, true to her name, dug deepest of all to get her head in front. It was a spectacular finish and a moment to savour for everyone involved.
This victory is not just a testament to Bay Dream’s courage but also to the hard work and dedication of the whole team behind her. Horses like her, who give absolutely everything every time they run, are what make racing so special.
Today’s win also takes Ursa Major Racing to 20 winners for the season – a remarkable milestone compared with 13 at this point last year. It’s proof of the progress and momentum building within the team, and a huge credit to all the trainers, staff, and members who make these days possible.
Congratulations to all connections!
