Manager’s Thoughts – Cartmel Runners

Ursa Major head to Cartmel today with four runners in the famous Battenberg silks.

2:45 – Restandbethankful (Peter Kavanagh)

We’re hopeful of a big run. He’s finally back on the good ground he enjoys, looks well handicapped, and we’ve worked through a few wind issues which now seem behind him. He should have a solid each-way chance.

4:30 – Prince Quattro (Sean Bowen)

The Cartmel Cup is always a fiercely competitive race, but we’re excited to have Champion Jockey Sean Bowen wearing our colours for the first time. Prince Quattro goes there with a favourite’s chance and, if he handles the unique track, he should be right in the mix and hopefully go very close.

5:05 – Glory and Honour (Jonathan England) (pictured below)

Another competitive contest, but with the favourite coming out this morning, Glory and Honour looks a little overpriced. That gives us encouragement for a strong each-way chance.

5:35 – Ingennio (Sean Quinlan)

This will bring him on again. He has plenty of weight to carry which makes it a tough task, but he’s been pleasing us at home. We just want to see him get competitive and show a bit more this time, which would set him up perfectly for his next outing.

Best of luck to everyone joining us at Cartmel today – it could be a special afternoon for the Battenberg silks. Don’t forget to follow our socials for updates throughout the day. And if you haven’t already, make sure to check out our latest YouTube short of Bay Dream Believer’s owner cheering her home – it’s gone mini-viral and is well worth a watch!
