Manager’s Thoughts – Friday Runners
Today we’re back in action with two runners representing Ursa Major Racing.
🏇 2:50 Doncaster – Prince Quattro
Trainer: James Owen | Jockey: Mason Paetel
This marks Prince Quattro’s first run on the Flat, and we approach today as a learning experience for him. While the top three in the betting look strong, James reports that Prince has been working well at home, and we’re hopeful he can make a positive impression at a big price. The real target remains a race later this month at Market Rasen, but today provides a valuable stepping stone.
🏇 8:35 Beverley – Beltane (pictured below)
Trainer: Mark Walford | Jockey: Joanna Mason
Beltane has a solid each-way chance despite a tough draw. The tactics are straightforward: we’ll look to get to the front early and make them catch us. He’s been knocking on the door and certainly deserves to get his head in front. That said, there’s always the risk of using up too much energy getting across from a wide gate—but if things fall right, he should be very competitive.
Best of luck to all connections today. It’s a busy few days coming up, so keep an eye on our socials for the latest updates, previews, and post-race insights.
