Manager’s Thoughts – Falcon Nine
Today we head to Musselburgh with Falcon Nine, who runs in the 2:30pm for trainer Iain Jardine, partnered by Jason Hart.
This will be his first time stepping up in trip, and the key today will be getting him to settle early. Last time out at Beverley, he pulled hard throughout and gave Joanna a tough time — but Jason is one of the strongest jockeys in the weighing room, and we’re hopeful he can get him switched off and travelling more kindly.
We’ve always felt there’s plenty of ability under the bonnet with this lad. His work at home is consistently strong, and while he hasn’t show it fully on the track just yet, he was unlucky not to get a clear run last time out. If things fall right today, we’d be hopeful of a first-three finish at the very least.
There’s a quick turnaround for Sam England’s runner which may play to our advantage, and if Falcon Nine does settle, he should stay well and be competitive at the business end. We’d love to see him take a big step forward and start picking up some of that all-important prize money — and hopefully a gold medal or two before long!
Best of luck to all connections today. As always, we’ll have race replays and further updates on our X account and YouTube channel.
