Manager’s Thoughts – Sunday 20th July

After an unforgettable day yesterday in the Battenberg silks, we’re straight back in action today with two runners, as we look to build on our momentum and chase winner number 102 for the club.

3:13 Stratford – Glory And Honour

Trained by Sam England

Ridden by Jonathan England

First up is Glory And Honour, who runs in a valuable contest at Stratford. With the recent downpours across the country, it’s a bit of a surprise to see the going still reported as good to firm — but we’ll take what we’re given. He’s in great heart at home and has been running consistently well on the track.

This is a highly competitive race — there’s plenty of strength in the field — but we’re hopeful he can run a solid race and be right in the mix for the places. Even a 5th in a race like this would be no disgrace, and he’s more than capable of grabbing some more prize money for his owners.

5:45 Redcar – Baby Rover (pictured below)

Trained by Katie Scott

Ridden by Joanna Mason

Later this evening we head to Redcar with Baby Rover, who continues to go from strength to strength. The race has seen a few non-runners, which certainly helps her chances, and she’s been drawn well too.

She’s improving with each run and we’re confident she’ll be thereabouts again today. The target is the first three, and on current form, she should be knocking on the door. We’re excited to see what she can do under a strong and experienced rider in Joanna Mason.

🙌 Thanks to All Connections

A huge thank you to everyone for the amazing messages and support following yesterday’s double — reaching 100 winners was a huge moment for us, and we didn’t stop there, with Lumenbourg making it 101 just hours later.

Let’s hope one of today’s runners can carry the momentum forward and help us reach winner 102. Good luck to all involved!
