Manager’s Thoughts – Secretinthesky (4:40 Newcastle)
We send Secretinthesky to Newcastle today for the 4:40, representing the Julie Camacho yard with Rowan Scott taking the ride. We were very pleased with her debut effort — she showed professionalism, handled the occasion well, and gave us enough encouragement to feel she has the raw ability to progress with experience.
Today’s race is a noticeably more competitive assignment, and she will need to take a step forward to get properly involved. That said, we’ve always viewed her as a longer-term project: a filly who will continue to strengthen, learn, and mature with each run. The best of her is likely to emerge later in her career, but these early experiences are invaluable in laying the groundwork.
She goes to the track today in good order and will be expected to run her race. What we’re hoping to see is another step in the right direction — improved sharpness, a better understanding of her job, and a bit more finishing effort. If she can do that, she should give her connections something to shout about on the way home.
Best of luck to everyone attending this afternoon, and thank you as always for the fantastic support.
