Ursa Major Sends Out Two Runners Today
We have two runners out today as Genbu and Gressington both take to the track for their respective teams.
Genbu heads to Catterick at 12.40 for the Sam England yard, with Charlie Maggs back onboard. Charlie’s 5lb claim will be valuable in helping to offset the 7lb penalty Genbu picked up for his recent win. He jumped exceptionally well last time out, and we’ll be hoping for another clear and confident round today. It’s a competitive race with market support for several rivals, but Genbu has been in good order at home and seems to have taken his last run well. If he can put that performance behind him and settle into his rhythm, we’re optimistic he can give a strong account of himself.
Later in the day, Gressington (pictured below) lines up in the 5.00 at Southwell for the Katie Scott team, partnered by Kaiya Fraser. This is another deep and tricky contest, but Gressington goes in with a light weight, which could play to his advantage. He’s a quirky character and can be unpredictable, but we know he has the ability when everything falls into place. His effort at Newcastle showed what he’s capable of when he applies himself, and a repeat of that attitude would put him right in the mix for an each-way chance.
Good luck to all connections heading to the races today. We’ll be sharing updates across our social channels throughout the day — stay tuned for results, reactions, and behind-the-scenes coverage from the team.
