Manager’s Thoughts – Newcastle
We’ve got two runners heading to Newcastle today – hopefully the weather holds and we get a good day’s racing in.
1:52 – Falcon Nine (pictured below)
Runs for Iain Jardine with Mohammed Tabti in the saddle.
He’s a bit of an enigma, this one. Clearly got ability but just doesn’t settle in his races, which makes life tough. Mohammed rides him at home and knows him well, so hopefully that helps. We’d love to see him get an easy lead and relax a bit. He’s well treated off this mark – needs to show something today.
4:50 – Kalganov
Michael Dods trains, with Jack Mitchell riding.
There’s been support for him in the market and he’s now backed into favourite, which is a good sign. He steps up to a mile here and it looks the right race to try it. All his best form is on the all-weather, so conditions suit – it’s just a case of whether he can settle early. If he does, he’s got a massive chance.
Good luck to all connections today – it’s Ladies Day at Newcastle, always a good atmosphere.
