Manager’s Thoughts – Friday 25th July

A busy and exciting day ahead with three runners across two tracks – Uttoxeter and York – and over 30 of our owners on course supporting. Fingers crossed we can make it a day to remember!

🏇 3:12 Uttoxeter – HUIT REFLETS

Trainer: Mark Walford | Jockey: Jamie Hamilton

Huit returns to Uttoxeter, a track he’s performed well at before, having only been beaten by a well-backed favourite on his last visit. He’s in great order at home and this will be his final run over hurdles before switching to fences next time out.

It’s a very competitive race – the final card before the summer break in National Hunt – and plenty are keen to get a run in. Notable opposition includes Diesel Line, who was a solid second last time; Papa Barns, runner-up to our own Prince Quattro in his recent win; and Ez Tiger, who scored last time out.

At 16/1, the market reflects how open the race is, but we’re hopeful of a good effort. A top-six finish would be a strong result in this company, and anything more would be a real bonus.

🏇 6:38 York – TIME TWISTER

Trainers: Michael & David Easterby | Jockey: Billy Garritty

Time Twister showed plenty of promise last time out. A slow start from the stalls cost him dearly, and he was only beaten by the ground he lost early on. We’re hoping for a cleaner break this evening – if he jumps out well, there’s every chance he can build on that run. He’s still learning, but going the right way, and looks overpriced on what we’ve seen so far.

🏇 7:13 York – NOBLE CONSORT (pictured below)

Trainer: Julie Camacho | Jockey: Ryan Sexton

Our best chance of the day. Noble Consort has been in fantastic form, starting this run off a mark of 49 and now racing off 77. That’s a significant rise but he’s earned it with consistent improvement and is still showing the right signs at home.

The only slight concern is the ground – good to soft is a question mark – but we go there hopeful. He’s been knocking on the door and this could be the day we land our first elusive York winner.

🎉 Looking Ahead

With over 30 owners cheering us on across the two meetings, it promises to be a great day. Best of luck to all connections – here’s hoping for a few strong performances and maybe even a winner!
