Manager’s Thoughts – Friday Runners
We’ve got four runners heading out today, all with solid chances, and we’re optimistic about strong performances across the board.
2.05 Newcastle – SASSY GLORY
Trainer: Mark Walford | Jockey: Jack Nicholls (7lb claim)
Sassy Glory has been knocking on the door recently and was just touched off last time when bumping into a good one. This looks a great opportunity, and with Jack’s valuable 7lb claim, she goes there with a strong each-way chance—hopefully, she can go one better today.
4.05 Southwell – LUMENBOURG
Trainer: Julie Camacho | Jockey: Joanna Mason
He’s gone up in the handicap following a very impressive win last time out, where the softer ground certainly suited him. Joanna Mason is on board today, and he holds a favourites’ chance. We’re expecting another solid run.
5.50 Southwell – MACEDONIAN (pictured below)
Trainer: Michael Dods | Jockey: Sean Kirrane
Macedonian was a good second last time out despite stumbling at the start, which arguably cost him the race. With a cleaner break and a bit of luck from the draw, he should be right there at the finish. Definitely one with each-way appeal again today.
7.18 Musselburgh – CURIOUS ROVER
Trainer: Katie Scott | Jockey: William Pyle
This is a competitive race, but Rover’s form has been nicely boosted with the winner of his last race going in again. We might have finished second that day with a clearer run, so we’re hoping for a more straightforward passage today. If he gets it, he should be bang there in the closing stages.
Summary:
All four horses go to the races today with live chances, and we’d be disappointed not to see them all finish in the top three. Over 30 owners are expected on course—best of luck to everyone attending and to those cheering from home. Don’t forget to follow our socials for live updates throughout the day!
