Manager’s Thoughts – Curious Rover at Catterick

Ursa Major Racing are on the road to Catterick today with one runner — Curious Rover, who takes his place in the 1:20pm under Joanna Mason for Katie Scott.

It’s lovely to see Rover lining up in a competitive race like this, and the current odds of around 14/1 look a little generous in our opinion. The favourite certainly deserves to head the market, but we’re hopeful Rover can give a good account of himself.

Interestingly, club legend - Mark Walford also has one in the race, which could help ensure there’s a bit of pace on early — that would suit us nicely, as we wouldn’t want to be making the running on our own from the start.

Conditions look ideal with the ground expected to be on the quick side, which should play to Rover’s strengths. This is likely to be one of his final appearances before a well-earned winter holiday, so it would be great to see him finish his campaign on a positive note.

Best of luck to all our owners, connections, and supporters making the trip to Catterick today. It’s an early start, with racing getting underway from 10:30am, so hopefully we can get the day off to a flying start!
