Manager’s Thoughts – Catterick, Tuesday 10th June
We’re back in action this evening with two runners at Catterick and looking forward to seeing how both perform.
6.40 – Baby Rover (pictured below)
Baby Rover lines up first and it’s great to have her back out again. She’s really starting to get the hang of things now and is showing encouraging signs of progress. She’s had a few issues at the stalls, but we’re using the stalls rug tonight and hoping that helps her break on terms—especially as she’s drawn well.
Her last run was eye-catching; she clocked the fastest final furlong of the race, and now stepping up to 6 furlongs, there’s reason to be optimistic. If she gets away cleanly, we think she’s got a solid each-way shout.
8.10 – Kalganov
Kalganov is our second runner of the evening and continues to be a model of consistency, having finished second on his last three starts. He’s been knocking on the door and really deserves to get his head in front.
This looks like the right type of race for him, and a bit of cut in the ground should play to his strengths. There is a last-time-out winner in the field, but we feel Kalganov goes there with a favourite’s chance on the balance of his recent form.
Paul Mulrennan takes the ride for the first time, and we’re hopeful he can get a good tune out of him. We’d be expecting another solid run — hopefully, this will be the day he goes one better and brings home the gold medal.
Best of luck to all connections 🩷💛
