Managers thoughts - Carolus Magnus
Ursa Major has just the one runner today, with Carolus Magnus lining up in the 8.30 at Newcastle for Mick & David Easterby, with Lewis Chalkley taking the ride. He drops back to 6f and we’ll look to adopt the same positive tactics of going forward early. With the benefit of Lewis’s 7lb claim, he looks a well-handicapped horse on his best form.
The race doesn’t look overly strong, and while Carolus hasn’t always been the easiest to catch right, he certainly has the ability to make his presence felt if things go to plan. This feels like a good opportunity for him, and we’ll be hoping he can take advantage of the conditions tonight.
We’d like to wish all connections the very best of luck. As always, we’ll have updates across our social media channels and on the website, so do keep an eye out for how he gets on.
