Manager’s Thoughts – Beltane at Ayr (4:10pm)

Monday, 14th July – Ayr Racecourse

Ursa Major Racing is back in action today with Beltane lining up in the 4:10 at Ayr, trained by Mark Walford and partnered by Joanna Mason.

Beltane has been a real model of consistency for the team, regularly hitting the frame and giving his owners plenty to cheer about. While he hasn’t always been the easiest to get his head in front, his honesty and reliability make him a real favourite within the syndicate.

Today, he’ll be sporting a fresh new look – the eye-catching Battenberg visor – which adds a bit of flair and might just bring that extra touch of luck we need. If nothing else, he’ll certainly look the part out on track!

The race itself looks competitive, and we’ll have to get past what appears to be a strong contender from Katie Scott’s yard, but we’re hopeful Beltane can once again give us a good run.

There’s an extra layer of excitement too – a win today would mark Ursa Major’s 100th winner. It would be a fitting moment if Mark Walford, who has played such an important role in our journey, could deliver that milestone.

🤞 Best of luck to all connections today. Here’s hoping Beltane can help us finally hit that long-awaited century. Come on the Battenbergs!
