Macedonian Returns to Action Today at Nottingham
Macedonian lines up today in the 3:25 at Nottingham for Ursa Major Racing, trained by Michael Dods and with Adam Farragher taking the ride.
I get the sense that the bookmakers might be underestimating him a bit this time around. They seem to be pricing him up based on his last run at Newcastle, but to be honest, that wasn’t a fair reflection of what he can do. We went into that race knowing 5f would be on the sharp side for him—it was more about getting him back on the track and blowing away the cobwebs after a break. The ground wasn’t ideal that day either, and we were never expecting fireworks.
Today, though, things look a lot more promising. The ground is much more to his liking, and he’s got a decent draw. We’re quietly confident that he can put in a much stronger performance this time. It’s a competitive little race, but I’d love to see him run a solid race and finish in the first four—that would be a step in the right direction for him.
Best of luck to all the connections and everyone heading down to Nottingham—hopefully we’ll have something to shout about by mid-afternoon!
A Big Weekend Ahead for Ursa Major Racing
It’s not just about today either—we’ve got a really busy weekend lined up across the board with plenty of runners flying the flag for Ursa at various tracks. There’s a great buzz around the yard at the moment and a lot to look forward to.
Away from the races, we’ve also got a bit of fun planned off the track with the Ursa Major x Mark Walford cricket match on Sunday! Always a great day out and a chance for everyone to have a laugh and maybe show off some hidden sporting talents (or lack of!).
As always, thank you to everyone for your continued support—it means a lot. Fingers crossed for a good few days ahead and a bit of luck along the way!
