Behind The Scenes: A Weekend Of Stable Visits

Ursa Major hosted three stable visits over the weekend, with owners treated to mornings on the gallops at the yards of Julie Camacho, Mark Walford, and Lizzie Quinlan. Trainers showcased the syndicate’s horses in training, along with some exciting ones to keep an eye on for the future. Each of the three yards offered a picturesque setting and a warm welcome, giving owners a real taste of the unique experience that racehorse syndication can bring. Below, we take a closer look at the horses and highlights from the weekend!

Friday - Julie Camacho & Steve Brown

On Friday, Racing Manager Craig visited Julie Camacho’s yard, the home of our horses Noble Consort and May Blossom, alongside Secretinthesky, Half Moon King, the Harry Angel x Maqam filly, and Lumenbourg. Noble Consort and May Blossom naturally drew special attention as last-time-out winners, but Julie and her team were also able to showcase the wellbeing and condition of the whole string. The horses looked fantastic, and it was a great opportunity to see them thriving. Some photos and videos are shared below!

Saturday - Mark Walford

Saturday was the turn of Mark Walford to host, with around 40 owners in attendance for a brilliant morning on the gallops. Mark and his team put on a great show, with the horses schooling over jumps and stretching out in their work as well as showing us how training of 2 year old happens. As always, the hospitality from the Walford stable was fantastic and much appreciated. We currently have 11 horses in training with Mark, including club favourites Bay Dream Believer and Chasingouttheblues, and it was a real pleasure to see them all looking so well.

Sunday - Lizzie Quinlan

Sunday was the turn of Lizzie Quinlan to welcome the Ursa Major Racing owners. A lovely touch on arrival was being greeted with a mobile coffee van, which set the tone for an enjoyable morning. We were able to watch Restandbethankful, Ingennio, and Heritier — who complete our roster with Lizzie — working around the gallops, as well as spend some time in the stable seeing a few more of the team. It was a great opportunity to get closer to the horses, and hopefully the owners picked up a few useful insights to take away with them.

A Note From The Manager -

What a fantastic weekend it has been, and a huge thank you goes out to all our trainers and owners who made it possible. Ursa Major would not be what it is without each and every one of you. We are on course for our best year yet, already celebrating 25 winners with our exciting jumps season still to come. The momentum is building, and it’s all down to your continued support. To our owners, trainers, admin team, and the hardworking stable staff — thank you for being such an integral part of Ursa Major Racing.

Craig 🩷💛

Final Note -

We are more than just a syndicate — we’re a family. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where owners feel truly connected. Our dedicated WhatsApp groups keep everyone up to date, offering a place to share opinions, celebrate successes, and form lasting friendships. Those bonds have already led to trips to premier meetings in Ireland — with exciting plans for France now in the works too!
