Ursa Major Racing Blog – Double Runners on Thursday

Today promises to be another exciting day for the Ursa Major Racing team as we send out two runners:

  • Bay Dream Believer at Southwell (1.50pm) with Rhys Elliott in the saddle

  • Final Edgar at Sedgefield (7.00pm) with Jamie Hamilton taking the ride

Bay Dream Believer – Chasing History (pictured below)

Bay Dream Believer has become a real star in the syndicate colours, stringing together a remarkable hat-trick of victories. Today, she goes in search of a fourth win on the bounce – something that would be a first in Ursa Major Racing’s history books.

She heads to Southwell off a slightly lower mark, which reflects her previous form on the all-weather. But those efforts perhaps came when she wasn’t at her best, so they might not give the full picture. If she can reproduce the same sparkle she’s shown on turf, there’s every reason to believe she has a massive chance of pulling off the four-timer.

Final Edgar – Time to Deliver

Later in the evening, Final Edgar runs at Sedgefield – a course where he’s shown he can be effective in the past. He looked fantastic at Mark’s owners’ morning last weekend, and the team are hopeful he can put that wellbeing into practice on the track.

Now running off a very low handicap mark, this feels like a crucial day for him. The ability is there, but he needs to show it where it matters. Sedgefield should give him the right conditions to do just that – and it may be a case of make or break for his place in the Ursa squad.

Looking Ahead

Two very different stories today: one horse chasing a piece of Ursa Major Racing history, the other looking to reignite his form and prove his worth. Whatever the outcome, it’s a day full of anticipation and excitement for all involved.

Best of luck to all connections and to everyone heading to the races – let’s see what today brings!
