Two New Yearling Signings!
While many were glued to the TV yesterday following the drama of the football transfer deadline, our racing manager Craig Talbot was focused on an equally exciting market – the yearling sales. Hours of research, pedigree study, and groundwork went in as Craig searched not just for raw ability, but for true value – something he has repeatedly shown a sharp eye for in the past.
After days of hard work and shortlisting, we’re delighted to announce that Ursa Major Racing has secured two of our top targets:
⭐ A’Ali x Tap Dancing – heading into training with Mark Walford
⭐ Harry Angel x Maqam – joining Julie Camacho’s team
Why These Two?
Both youngsters stood out to Craig and the team not just for their looks and potential, but for their pedigree depth and value for money.
A’Ali x Tap Dancing
By the lightning-fast sprinter A’Ali, this colt hails from a family that oozes speed and precocity. A’Ali himself was a Group 2 Royal Ascot winner at two, and his first crop have been making plenty of appeal in the sales ring. Paired with Tap Dancing, from a proven family of winners, this is a horse who should be sharp, speedy, and on the track early.Harry Angel x Maqam
Sired by Harry Angel, one of Europe’s most exciting sprint stallions and already producing classy stock, this colt is out of Maqam, a mare who has produced tough and consistent performers. The Camacho team, renowned for handling top sprinters like Shaquille, were quick to take a share themselves – which says everything about the impression this lad made.
Trainer Buy-In
Both Mark Walford and Julie Camacho have personally taken shares in their respective horses. That speaks volumes: when trainers are willing to invest in the horses they’ll be working with every day, it’s a real sign of confidence.
