Runners & Selections – Festival Day 2 Preview

Following a strong showing yesterday, with 4 winners across 7 races performing admirably, confidence is high heading into Day 2. Our racing manager Craig Talbot continues to prove why he’s so trusted during these busy festival weeks. Today, we’ve got a trio of runners flying the Battenberg silks and several exciting selections lined up. Could today be the day we pass the £1 million prize money milestone? Here’s everything you need to know.

Today’s Runners in the Battenberg Silks

2:15 Hamilton – Jumeira Vision

📍 Trainer: Katie Scott | Jockey: Oisin McSweeney

Jumeira Vision returns to a track he knows and enjoys, and finds himself on a very workable mark today. With top apprentice Oisin McSweeney in the saddle, we’re expecting a bold run. There aren’t many excuses here – the horse is fit, fancied, and in the right race. We’d be disappointed if he’s not finishing in the top three.

5:55 Hamilton – Straya (pictured below)

📍 Trainer: Katie Scott | Jockey: Connor Beasley

Straya was particularly unlucky last time out, encountering traffic at a crucial stage. This is a more competitive contest, but she remains well-handicapped and unexposed. The big question today is whether she’ll stay the trip – something we’re hoping to learn more about from jockey Connor Beasley. She’s an each-way shout at decent odds.

8:30 Ripon – Bay Dream Believer

📍 Trainer: Mark Walford | Jockey: Joanna Mason

Bay Dream Believer loves it at Ripon and has been freshened up nicely at home. She’s been training well and comes into this with a live chance. We do have to concede weight to a few younger horses, and they look the main danger. That said, we’re hopeful she can be in the mix for a top 3 finish.

Festival Day 2 – Racing Selections

Looking beyond our own runners, we’ve also got a full set of tips for Day 2 of the festival. These are selections coming straight from our racing manager Craig Talbot – and after yesterday’s success, they’re well worth keeping an eye on:

  • Race 1 – Zelaina

  • Race 2 – Carmers (🔹NAP of the day)

  • Race 3 – Cinderella’s Dream

  • Race 4 – Los Angeles

  • Race 5 – Qirat (🔹Each-Way Value)

  • Race 6 – Julia Augusta

  • Race 7 – Gaga Mate

Final Word

Best of luck to all connections today! With a bit of luck, one of our runners might just carry us past the magical £1 million mark in total prize money – a huge milestone for the team.

Keep your eyes on the Battenberg silks and follow our festival selections for what promises to be another exciting day at the races.
