Manager’s Thoughts – Newcastle, Today

A busy and exciting day ahead with four runners heading to Newcastle for Ursa Major Racing, and great to have over 30 of our owners making the trip. Thank you, as always, for your support — it means a lot to the team and the yards involved.

1:08 – Bay Dream Believer

Trainer: Mark Walford

Jockey: Rhys Elliott

Bay Dream Believer has her final run of the season this afternoon. She hasn’t shown her best on the all-weather so far, but we feel there have been valid reasons for that. She put a lot into her last run on heavy ground and has since been working nicely at home.

The plan will be to switch her off early and look to come with her usual late run. Regardless of today, she has been one of our standout horses this year and truly owes us nothing. We’re hoping she can finish the season on a high note.

3:55 – Secretinthesky

Trainer: Julie Camacho

Jockey: Ryan Sexton

A debut today for Secretinthesky and it looks a strong and competitive field, as you’d expect here. The main aim is to give her the experience she needs. If she can finish in the first half of the field, that would be very encouraging and give us something to build on going forward.

5:00 – Curious Rover

Trainer: Katie Scott

Jockey: William Pyle

Curious Rover has been disappointing on his last few starts, but he is now edging down to a more workable handicap mark. He has been training well at home, so we’re happy to let him take his chance today. Hoping this can be the run that gets him back moving in the right direction.

5:30 – Beltane

Trainer: Mark Walford

Jockey: Rhys Elliott

Beltane returns from a break today. He needs to start showing a bit more now, and today should give us a clear read on where we are with him looking towards January. If he can recapture any of his old form, the same form that saw him competitive off marks in the 70s, then he’ll be right in the mix at this level. No excuses today — a straightforward test.

Best of Luck to All Connections

A brilliant day ahead with a big team turnout on course — thank you to every owner who continues to support and enjoy the journey with us.

Here’s to a safe run for all horses and hopefully a result or two to cheer home.
