πŸ‡ Sedgefield Race Report – A Promising Day for the Team

Yesterday, we sent two runners to Sedgefield – Suitably Surprised and Mr Sundancer – and both delivered encouraging performances that set a solid platform for the season ahead.

Suitably Surprised was up first, partnered with Jonny England. Following her seasonal reappearance, we advised owners that she’d likely take a step forward but would still come on for the run β€” and that’s exactly how things played out. She travelled comfortably in the pack for most of the race before being eased once beaten in the closing stages. Her preparation is progressing nicely, and we’re confident she’ll be back to her consistent self very soon.

Next up was Mr Sundancer, reunited with our favourite duo: trainer Mark Walford and jockey Jamie Hamilton. Not seen since Boxing Day, it was clear he would need the run, but he looked a picture in the paddock and certainly turned heads. While a few untidy jumps cost him some momentum, he still managed to finish a close-up 4th, just 8.25 lengths behind the winner β€” a highly encouraging return to action. With Mark Walford at the helm, we’re confident Mr Sundancer will continue to improve, as he has with many of our horses.

πŸ‘€ Looking Ahead

Keep an eye out for updates on our exciting new signing, Commander Atkinson, who has now arrived at Brian Ellison’s yard. Early signs are very promising, and we’re heading into an exciting chapter for the club.

As always, if you have any questions, queries, or interest in getting involved with our horses, don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
