Why This Horse?
Our Supremacy x Rome Imperial filly is an exciting addition to the Ursa Major Racing team, combining the speed and precocity of one of Europe’s leading young stallions with a strong female family.
Supremacy was a high-class two-year-old himself, winning the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes and Group 2 Richmond Stakes at two. His pedigree is also particularly appealing, being by Mehmas, himself a hugely influential source of speed.
On the dam’s side, Rome Imperial brings the influence of Siyouni, one of Europe's most successful stallions, and she herself was a winner over a mile. This gives the filly an interesting balance between speed and the possibility of progressing beyond the minimum distances as she matures.
For us, she represents the type of well-bred filly we want to have in the Ursa Major colours — bred by Yeomanstown Stud, from a proven European family and with plenty of upside ahead of her.

This is a filly with an exciting combination of speed-oriented bloodlines and a female family that has produced horses capable of winning over further.
Supremacy was at his best as a two-year-old, winning three of his four starts, including the Middle Park Stakes over six furlongs and the Richmond Stakes over the same distance.
Rome Imperial, meanwhile, won at Windsor over just over a mile and is by Siyouni out of Ascot Lady.
That combination makes her an interesting prospect. She could possess the natural speed to be effective early in her career, while there is enough stamina in the dam's side to leave open the possibility of progressing in trip.
The exciting part is that we will get to discover her optimum distance and racing style as she develops.
🏠 Training
As a young filly, the priority will be allowing her to develop naturally. At this stage there is no need to rush her; the aim will be to build her strength, fitness and education gradually while giving her the time she needs to mature.
Her pedigree suggests there should be plenty of natural speed, but her dam's mile-winning form also gives us reason to believe she may have the versatility to step up in trip as her career develops.
The early stages will therefore be about education and progression rather than chasing a particular timetable. Once she is ready, the plan will be to introduce her to the routine of training and gradually discover where her strengths lie.

Sire – Supremacy: A son of Mehmas who was one of the leading two-year-olds of his generation. He won the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes and Group 2 Richmond Stakes before retiring to stud.
Dam – Rome Imperial: A daughter of Siyouni who won over a mile at Windsor and was placed on another occasion from four starts.
Granddam – Ascot Lady: A two-time winner in France who became a successful broodmare, producing five winners from six runners according to the Tattersalls pedigree information.
The wider family also includes Rare Groove, a four-time winner, while Ascot Lady's family has produced a number of other winners.
There is also a notable Nureyev 4D x 5D cross in the filly's three-generation pedigree.
🌟 Looking Ahead
There is plenty to look forward to with this filly. She has been bred on a high-class European page, by a Group 1-winning two-year-old from the Mehmas line and out of a Siyouni mare who showed her ability over a mile.
For now, the focus is simply on giving her the best possible start to life as a racehorse. As she strengthens and develops, we will learn more about her natural speed, preferred distance and racing style.
