Manager’s Thoughts – A Week of Highs, Lows and Hopes.

It’s been a real week of ups and downs here at Ursa Major Racing – the kind of week that keeps us all on our toes! But we’re absolutely thrilled to have celebrated our third winner in just seven days yesterday as Noble Consort stormed home in impressive style. He’s a horse we’ve always thought a lot of, and the manner of that win has really got his owners dreaming. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check out the replay now live on our YouTube channel – it’s worth a watch!

Tonight, we send out one runner – Sassy Glory – in the 8.30pm at Doncaster, with the brilliant Hollie Doyle booked for the ride. It’s a hot race for the grade, no doubt about it, and we’re under no illusions that she’ll need to show her best.

Sassy hasn’t quite fired so far this season, but full credit goes to trainer Mark Walford, who recently identified an issue. Since undergoing ulcer treatment, the change in her demeanour and work at home has been very encouraging. Thanks to Mark’s expert care and attention to the finer details, we’re hopeful she’s now ready to show us a bit more of what she’s capable of.

Hollie knows Doncaster well and should give her every chance of being in the right spot if she’s feeling good. We’d love to see her run into a place – but more importantly, we’re just looking for a step forward from her recent runs. Something we can build on.

Best of luck to all connections this evening – with the heatwave continuing, it’s shaping up to be a cracking night’s racing. And don’t forget, tomorrow is a busy one for the team – we’ve got several runners to follow, so stay tuned for updates!
