Ivan Furtado is a professional racehorse trainer based in the United Kingdom, renowned for his expertise in both Flat and National Hunt racing. Originally from Brazil, Ivan's passion for horses began at an early age on his family's ranch, where he started riding around the age of four. His interest in horse racing was further ignited by assisting in the care of his grandfather's racehorses. After completing his university studies, Ivan moved to the UK to enhance his English skills and immerse himself in the racing industry.​

His early career in the UK involved a five-year tenure with National Hunt trainer Jim Old, followed by two years as assistant trainer to Roger Charlton. During his time with Charlton, Ivan worked closely with notable horses such as Group 1 winner Al Kazeem, Cityscape, and Time Test. In 2015, Ivan established his own training operation at Eboracum, North Yorkshire. ​
