13 winners in jumps season to remember

Glory and Honour brought the curtain down on a fabulous National Hunt season for Ursa Major with a terrific third at Sandown.

The Sam England-trained chaser was one of the true highlights of an incredible year - winning twice and placing seven times from nine runs.

He won on iTV and ran at big tracks on Saturdays like Haydock, Doncaster and Sandown.

But he wasn’t even the most prolific horse in our colours this jumps term, with Event of Sivola and Moonlight Glory each winning three apiece for Mark Walford.

In total, we had 13 winners over the course of the 12 month campaign, with Fenna’s Loss, Ruler of the River, FInal Edgar and Carrarea all scoring.

And Heritier gave his owners some massive days to remember too, finishing second in a big race at Carlisle.

Racing Manager Craig Talbot said: “We have had 13 winners which we are very pleased with. Glory and Honour has been fantastic winning a big race on ITV was the highlight for me.

“Heritier was 2nd in the Go North Series final that was a wonderful effort. What can you say about Event of Sivola absolutely outstanding and potentially improving at the ripe old age of 10.

“Moonlight Glory has been a pleasure to own, she’s tough and will be back for another 6 months before going to the breeding sheds.

”The new young guns Final Edgar and Ruler Of The River both got wins under their belts and the future looks very bright
”We said goodbye to Carrarea who won two novices, the second one at crazy odds of 30/100 - the shortest price for a Ursa horse by far.
”It has been a wonderful year and massive thank you to our trainers and stable staff for their hard work and a special shout out to Mark Walford for providing 10 of the wins - a wonderful effort.
”Finally a big thanks to owners old and new for your support. Without owners in what is becoming a very competitive and tough market this wouldn’t be possible. Here’s to beating that tally next year.”
