Event takes Ursa record by storming to fifth win

Event of Sivola further wrote himself into the Ursa history books by recording his fifth win in the Battenbergs - making him the winning-most horse in our history.

The 10 year old staying chaser jumped like a horse half his age as he skipped around Catterick to record a 17 length victory - in the process pulling one clear in total Ursa wins from Kodimoor on four.

It was his second win this winter, meaning he has now won for us at Musselburgh, Ayr, Hexham (twice) and Catterick.

He stays all day and laps up soft ground making him the perfect chaser for a syndicate like ours.

Craig Talbot, Racing Manager, said: “I want to give huge credit to Mark Walford and Jamie Hamilton who have been part of Ursa and this horse’s career since day one.

“To hit a fifth victory is so much more than you can ever dream of and we all love him to absolute bits.

“He has a huge heart, he never knows when to give in - today he jumped them for fun and came home untroubled.

“I also want to thank Christine at Mark’s who looks after him - she is a huge reason why he is so special.”
