Ursa at the double as Glory and Honour and The Turpinator win

It was a super Saturday for Ursa Major as the Battenbergs landed an across-card double.

Glory and Honour ran out a comfortable winner of the Class 3 Handicap Chase at Doncaster live on ITV for Sam and Jonathan England.

Screamed home by more than 20 owners on course, he was again given a perfectly judged ride by Jonny to secure the £18k first prize - our biggest winner in terms of prize money to date.

Just half an hour later The Turpinator made it two by winning a really competitive handicap with ease for Grant Tuer and Jack Mitchell.

It’s a day no member of Ursa Major will ever forget and the fact that 40 loyal owners were on track to celebrate made it even more special, just a week before Christmas.

Racing Manager Craig Talbot said: “This is the stuff of dreams Two of our best ever purchases with two incredible trainers.

“I could only be at one of the two tracks and it was an honour to be at Newcastle to see The Turpinator. But I know everyone at Doncaster had a great time, with some telling the racing press that it was one of the greatest sporting moments of their lives.

“That is what it is all about, making memories.”

The wins take us to 26 victories for 2023 and 55 in total.
