Moonlight Glory bounces back to bring up third win

Moonlight Glory further wrote herself into the Ursa history books with a third win in the Battenbergs at Newcastle today.

The gutsy mare had her conditions, but still defied a career high mark to win by three and a half lengths for Mark Walford and Tom Midgley.

She was shaken up to lead three out and kept on well, scoring comfortably at odds of 14/1.

The way she won suggests there could still be more to come and the eight year old has drawn level second in the Ursa winning-most horse ranks.

It was a brilliant day all round with Sam England’s Glory and Honour finishing second, Event of Sivola finishing fourth and Thaki recording a strong fifth.

Racing Manager Craig Talbot said: “That was brilliant, she bounced back brilliantly from her last run and she has done herself proud there.

“It was definitely a career best and she is on three wins for us now. We will have a look at something in a couple of weeks for her if she is ready.

“It has been a fantastic day after a quiet six or seven weeks, but that’s 22 winners for the year now - magnificent.”
